Taking care of everyone else can make it easy to put yourself last.
Healthcare professionals navigate demanding workloads, difficult decisions, emotional demands, and the pressure to keep performing. Over time, these demands can contribute to burnout, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or simply feeling like you're running on empty.
B&G Mental Health Counseling provides virtual therapy for healthcare professionals throughout Iowa who are looking for a confidential space to step back, process what they're experiencing, and focus on their own well-being.
You may be experiencing:
Burnout or emotional exhaustion
Anxiety or constant worry
Compassion fatigue
Difficulty disconnecting from work
Stress related to workload or workplace demands
Feeling overwhelmed by competing responsibilities
Perfectionism or fear of making mistakes
Difficulty setting boundaries
Career uncertainty or dissatisfaction
A major professional transition
Relationship stress related to work demands
Feeling disconnected from yourself outside of your professional role
You may be accustomed to being the person others rely on. At work, you're expected to be capable and dependable; at home, there are often still responsibilities waiting for you.
If work-related stress, anxiety, exhaustion, difficult experiences, or the demands of your professional role are beginning to affect your well-being, relationships, or ability to enjoy your life, therapy may be worth exploring.
Depending on your needs, therapy may focus on:
Managing burnout and chronic stress
Reducing anxiety and overthinking
Establishing healthier boundaries
Working through difficult experiences
Addressing perfectionism
Improving work-life balance
Navigating career decisions
Strengthening relationships
Reconnecting with interests and parts of yourself outside of work
Developing healthier ways to manage pressure and expectations
Therapy provides a space where you don't have to be the problem-solver or the person holding everything together. Whether you're experiencing burnout, anxiety, compassion fatigue, difficulty setting boundaries, career stress, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, we can work together to understand what's happening and identify what you need moving forward.
Breanna brings more than a decade of experience in behavioral health and healthcare, including clinical practice, healthcare leadership, program development, resident and physician education and behavioral health strategy.
Throughout her career, she has worked alongside healthcare professionals and organizations navigating complex clinical, operational, and organizational challenges. Her experience includes behavioral health leadership, consulting, program development, quality improvement, and supporting healthcare professionals through demanding work environments.
This experience gives Breanna a unique understanding of the pressures that can come with healthcare careers—from the emotional demands of caring for others to leadership responsibilities, high expectations, workplace stress, and the challenge of maintaining a sense of self outside of your professional role.
In therapy, that experience informs a practical, collaborative approach that recognizes both the individual and the professional environment they're navigating.
