Therapy is a place to slow down, make sense of what's happening, and figure out what comes next.
I'm Breanna Young, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with more than 15 years of experience in behavioral health and healthcare. Throughout my career, I've worked with individuals and professionals navigating anxiety, stress, life changes, relationships, and other challenges that can make it difficult to feel like yourself.
Today, I provide virtual individual therapy to adults throughout Iowa through B&G Mental Health Counseling.
My goal is to create a space where you can show up as you are—without judgment and without needing to have everything figured out before you begin.
I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what's happening without feeling judged or having to have everything figured out first.
My approach is supportive, collaborative, and practical. We'll work together to understand what's happening beneath the surface, identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop strategies that support meaningful and lasting change.
Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, a major life transition, relationship challenges, or the pressures of a demanding career, therapy can provide space to slow down, gain perspective, and reconnect with what matters to you.
My career has given me a perspective that extends beyond traditional clinical practice. In addition to providing mental health counseling, I've worked in healthcare leadership and behavioral health strategy, supported organizational growth and development, consulted with healthcare organizations, and helped recruit and develop healthcare professionals.
This experience has given me a firsthand understanding of the pressures that can accompany healthcare careers, leadership, high-performance environments, and demanding professional roles.
That perspective is especially important to my work with professionals who may look successful on the outside while privately struggling with stress, burnout, anxiety, relationships, or questions about what's next.
You don't have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. If you're ready to explore whether therapy might be a good fit, I'd be glad to connect.
